The parents of her are the Russian economist Tatyana Semenovich, and Gregory T. the Director of the Fur Company. After a period of 6 months in hospital as a child, he was later diagnosed with arthritis rheumatoid. It was his work as a skater with Denis Samokhin that made him well-known. They competed at the Junior World Championships in two consecutive years. They were placed 8th in 1993 and 7th in 1994. Her first partnership was with Maxim Kachanov.
