Rose McGowan

 

Rosa Arianna "Rose", born September 5, 1973 is an American actress. After her film debut in her brief appearance in the comedy Encino Man (1992), McGowan gained more recognition for her role in the dark comedy The Doom Generation (1995) which earned her an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Debut Performance. Her breakout role came in the horror film Scream in the year 1996. She then headlined the films Jawbreaker (1999) and Devil in the Flesh (2000). McGowan is most famous for her role in Charmed, a supernatural drama on WB from 2001 until the year 2006. McGowan was also the main character in Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature film Grindhouse (2007) which for which she received nominations for the Saturn Award as Best Actress and the Scream Award as Best Scream Queen. In 2014, she starred in Chosen, an action-thriller series. The actress released Planet 9, her first album of her own in the year 2018 and a repackaging was done in 2020. McGowan was honored by Time as one of the Silence Breakers, the magazine’s Person of the Year for 2017. She made a statement about harassment and sexual assault and specifically the Harvey Weinstein sexual abuse cases. She's written a memoir, Brave, and starred in the documentary series Citizen Rose, which consists of four parts. Citizen Rose, both in the year 2018.
