Rosamund Pike

In 1979, in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike is the only child of a classically trained violinist's mother, Caroline (Friend), and a opera father of a singer, Julian Pike. She spent her childhood travelling throughout Europe as a result of her parents' work. Pike was a student at Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike was only 23 when she was cast in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then discovered by an agent and signed. While her film debut was a high-budget action movie The film work that followed was primarily in smaller, independent films, such as Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for which she won the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards), and Pride & Prejudice (2005) as one of the Bennet daughters. After a brief period in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006) was her next film. She returned to film with impressive performances in three smaller films. She was also in Johnny English Reborn (2011) and in the sci-fi film Wrath of the Titans (2012). She returned to action films featuring a female lead with Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
